Actually thinking about it more, my biggest gripe with CP2077 is the bulletspongeyness of enemies but when you're talking to people getting shot in the face is made out to be a big deal

Actually kind of disappointing from something based off a TTRPG where getting shot once or twice is real bad news unless you're more metal than meat

@Nerts I mean isn't that kind of why being rich enough to have a TraumaTeam account is kind of a huge deal...?

@Rewhan Exactly, otherwise you have to trust your buddies enough to drag your injured ass out of them and not ditch you to save themselves

@Nerts Also brief aside did Shadowrun and Cyberpunk 2013 come out around the same time?

I just find it curious they both have major paramilitary paramedic services as game mechanics - I assume they must be both drawing from the same inspiration.

@Rewhan Cyberpunk was 88, Shadowrun 1st edition was 89, but both are "what if privatised health care was even worse to a cartoonish degree"

@Nerts Ah yes, '88-'89... Coming out of the Reaganomics era.

Yeah that suddenly makes sense.
