@pearshapes could you elaborate on what exactly you did and what connector you used? We might be able to help you figure out whether you need to send the card back or not.

@Rosemary i plugged it in and turned on the power, tried to start it twice, unplugged about 10-15 sec after initially turning on the power

@pearshapes You've applied reverse polarity power to the card; the EPS connector has the +12V on the opposite side of the connector than the PCIe connector. I couldn't tell you whether that fried your card or not, not without knowing more details about the way the card is designed, but I would suggest you start looking into the RMA process.
