@monorail This could be 220Ω±1%, but it could also be 10kΩ±2%, depending on the order you read the bands--red/red/blk/blk/brn or brn/blk/blk/red/red. I would guess the former is more likely, because we don't see many 2% tolerance resistors.
@monorail If you're unsure, measure one with a multimeter.
@monorail Oh! You should probably get one if you do anything with electronics. We could recommend ones to you if you have a price range--though if the price range is under $20 or so, they're all going to be about the same, very bad, quality--but good enough for measuring resistances and such.
@monorail Multimeters are far more useful than you might think, for more than just resistors. I would recommend getting one as soon as possible; if you do much with electronics it won't be a purchase you regret.
