You know, seeing the CBC (typically derided by our right as a liberal rag) go in hard on "fascism in Brazil is good for business" is one of those moments that makes you realise that yeah, we might not be as quick as some other countries, but we're following the same path.
Like, don't get me wrong. I'm aware of our flaws. We're absolute shit to our First Nations, it's only recently (and with a lot of opposition) that we made progress on gender stuff, basically... everything about Harper, participation in shitty joint military operations, pipelines
This isn't an exhaustive list, naturally.
But like, I dunno, I sort of hoped we had more moderating forces against the global shift to the right and just... everything
But then I think about this, the 2019 fed election, and how 2018 turned out in Ontario...
I envy my cat a lot.
All he has to worry about is finding warm spots to have a nap and reminding me to feed him twice a day.
