@Soreth @anthracite @xinjinmeng Fun fact, back in 1938 a researcher attempting to generate novel CFCs opened up a compressed gas cylinder of Tetrafluoroethylene... And nothing came out. The cylinder weight still indicated it was full, but the expected Tetrafluoroethylene gas just wasn't leaving the cylinder.
Because he was curious, the researcher physically sawed the cylinder open. Inside he found a strange, slippery white solid material coating the bottom of the cylinder. The Tetrafluoroethylene had polymerized under pressure.
And that's how Teflon was discovered ^.^
