tech gripe, help appreciated
so I updated windows, and everything's okay... except dropbox, which magically stopped connecting to the internet.
anyone got any pointers to help me out with this other than waiting for an eventual update? I've already tried reinstalling and disabling anything that may put a proxy in the way, made sure it's allowed through the windows firewall too, still nothing.

@Thaminga try deleting Dropbox's preferences which may be persistent through installations?
re: tech gripe, help appreciated
@dog every trace of it was gone (checked appdata, install folders, etc) after I first uninstalled it, so that shouldn't be it; unless there's some place where those are at that I haven't found
re: tech gripe, help appreciated
@Thaminga i cant offer any more advice that would baffle me to no end
update
@Thaminga Dropbox itself is pretty fucked which is why I finally said "Screw it" and launched a nextcloud/owncloud instance on a VPS. Moving my data to it and some archival shit to a cloud storage folder added to it.
re: update
@ceralor yeah, I only really use it as a thing to access my stuff when I'm not on my PC/share files with folks more than as an actual backup utility so it works as is for me, but I can completely understand that
re: update
@Thaminga Same, which is what I'm using Nextcloud for. The mobile and desktop clients both are folder sync like dropbox so I can just right-click to get a sharing link :3 And the cute part is the shared links are all at floating.coyotesin.space ^^;

@Thaminga you do not want to use dropbox it scans all your files and reads through them. Nextcloud and fun
update
never mind y'all, got it back to work; required me to uninstall, restart, -then- reinstall
