Kinda like the 'death to minimalism' article, and also like it, it's also making me question this whole thing/event in design more.
I definitely don't think you need classical aesthetics to uplift people, but the way things have turned out, something has clearly gone wrong.
I think this is why the more I think about it, my favourite forms of postwar archtiecture are postmodern and the craziest shit that came out of the Y2K era, because even if it's gaudy and capitalistic, they at least tried to make people feel anything at all.
@dzuk Yeah. I feel like a lot of what's wrong with modern architecture is that while there's plenty of design going on that's good in a vacuum, there's very little emphasis on designing a space that'll -feel good- to be in, especially if you have to visit it on the daily.
