So I was standing in line at McDonald's and someone about my age walked up, looked me in the eyes as though about to cry, and gave me a long warm hug. I said something like "aww, what? hug?? hi" and as I stood there stunned wondering if that was somebody I know an old guy in a Minecraft hat said "do you know her?" and she said "no," and the old guy was like "why don't I get a hug?" so she was like "sometimes if you want to do something you should just do it instead of just wishing you had"
what
It was actually at work.
My first job was a 7-11 night-shift manager and I would sometimes get a lot of attention, including a woman who had me lean over the counter like she was going to whisper at me but instead kissed me quite passionately.
She left and the man behind her in line asked if I knew the woman. "Nope, " I replied. "Never seen her before in my life."
I got a lot of dates from that job, too
@ThatDamnCat huh! well. HUMANS.
makes me wonder how many inexplicable nice gestures in my past I assumed were practical jokes at my expense were in fact just improbably pure expressions of human connection.
