So in this universe, there's a binary star system with several planets, some habitable and some not. The locals call the stars the Red Flame (the larger red one) and the Blue Flame (the smaller blue one). Akʔan is a lush planet in an improbably tight orbit around the Blue Flame; the reason it's not a scorched wasteland is the sheer amount of life magic on it; the planet is a life manafount

@VoxSomniator Now, perhaps the most interesting thing about Akʔan is that for roughly five earth days of its about-thirty-earth-day orbit the planet is _inside_ the Blue Flame. the Blue Flame itself is also a manafount, of mutative magic in this case. The interaction of the two manafounts protects the planet from suffering any damage from this passage through the Blue Flame
