Some of my friends really like Substitute Familiar (and it forms a lot of the basis for some RP stuff I'm doing with them) so I read it and the short stories that continue it.

I like it a lot! My friends gave me the impression it was absolutely full of gender stuff (which I'm not really interested in reading about) but there actually was barely any focus on it, and it was mostly focused on transformation itself, which was *incredible* and I'm glad I got around to giving the book a try.
