Me last night: Okay, so if 8 hours wasn’t enough, then I need 9 hours of sleep. I’ll go to bed an hour earlier, since I always seem to wake up at a fixed time regardless.

@k Oversleeping can be just as bad for you as undersleeping.

On another note, if you've been undersleeping a lot recently, then it may take a few nights for the body to catch up.

Are you sure about the former? I need to do some research but I think when people say "I feel groggier when I sleep longer" it's just because they're dehydrated
