i officially have a backlog of sixteen (16) full length JRPGs to get through
now is the winter of my discontent
one time while i was still in middle school, my parents took me to this thing at the state fair where it was just a giant warehouse building where they were trying to get rid of a shit-ton of books
i was a big reader
i came home with something like 30 very thick sci-fi books and a 2' tall stack of national geographics, which we spent about $20 altogether
there is a very unique, special feeling of "i'm surrounded by things i enjoy, and also stress-crying face down in bed"
i missed that
think that was also the year my english teacher threw out my reading log because "even i couldn't read this much, don't lie" and my parents had to come in and say "no, our child's just... a big fucking nerd, actually"
@kat I sorta have a similar experience, in that a english teacher gave me an F on a writing assignment because I wrote too well and therefor probably had a parent write it for me. This resulted in my mother having to come in and set the teacher straight.
@Zauberin on one hand, teachers are assholes sometimes
on the other, i can't believe how much of a horrible nerd i am sometimes, i can't blame a teacher for not believing it either
