I’m nervous about a strong pro gun control response at the same time as an attempt to demonize trans people. I’m sure other people are thinking this; right wingers would like well intentioned liberals (pushing what in a fair world is sane and good) to do half their dirty work for them. I guess given that I’m powerless anyway my worries are academic.
@Leucrotta I don't have a problem with proper regulation of firearms but I honestly am not seeing anything resembling a "strong response" this time. I'd have to see a lot more of something before I got nervous of the two being intertwined.
@Leucrotta to be fair since SandyHook there has been a lot of movement on the state level on gun safety. A lot of it small and local. That has been an ongoing thing and it varies a lot but concerted national efforts beyond some executive orders, well, not much.
We will see if any of that gets married to anti trans rhetoric. All the chatter after Sandy Hook on mental health did not go very far after all
