@Therian oh boy if your industry has a bunch of middle-aged white dudes, I can see this going extremely wrong. I trust you personally to be good about this, but I can extremely see some random dude from another company taking this as a license to show up wearing a bra and making a ton of transphobic jokes.
So, I guess maybe find a way to make it clear that that shit won't fly?
@Therian ah, fair enough! That sounds good then - I just thought "corporate" + "drag" and instinctively shuddered, but it sounds like your situation doesn't match that fear.
@abe_e_seedy Understandably! But, I trust my boss to do this in a way that’s accessible and fun without being offensive (he stated as much in our first meeting). But he did want a theme that was designed to get folks out of their comfort zone, and if a drag show does nothing else lol
@abe_e_seedy I doubt it would devolve into that, speaking from experience. Plus we’re reaching out to members of the local drag scenes and letting them basically run the show. Basically, as the queerest agency in the city our goal is to say “screw the middle aged white guys who are uncomfortable with this”. There’s always a chance someone will be an asshole, but that person was probably gonna be an asshole regardless. People in this industry are usually obvious about who they are.
