honestly that Windows doesn’t open Task Manager in the perfect isolated graphical void from which you can open it when you press ctrl-alt-del, leaving it hidden behind games which have taken over your actual desktop and hung, feels like one of Windows’ biggest remaining flaws?

like how is “force quit a game that has hung” actually this much fucking work on Windows in the year of luigi 2018 that I usually just reboot?

I was going to comment on how great Mirror’s Edge looks in 4K for a nine year old game but this is as far as I can get into the game awoo.space/media/rtIbtEHblK_E3

anyway those forty three seconds of the game *do* look great so

UPDATE:

• it was the old PhysX driver implementation it was using on a tarp which was just coming into view
• installing the “PhysX Legacy Driver” and moving “PhysXLoader.dll” up a directory made it work

I NOW HAVE FULL PHYSX IN MIRRORS EDGE ON WINDOWS 10

so anyway now I know the exact point at which that tarp becomes a physx object awoo.space/media/7PhFR92xVY3g5

ok never mind you can get as far as the first level (where all the glass in the universe gets shattered by cops) and it locks up again?
