idk theres this huge widespread thing where people are like 'find your instance!' and its like... that instance still gets posted to masto prime because someone probably follows it, since you cant post *only* to local
@Nire I think ppl are struggling to deal with social problems and at this point are only being offered technical solutions
@confusedcharlot right but the thing is ppl've been giving them both types of solution for months
@confusedcharlot the thing in question specifically was "you absolutely must cw all politics"
@confusedcharlot sure but these are all things where either would work, but the sanctity of the church of the federation came first until very very recently, at the expense of all else, and all had to see the glory of the federation, even if you wanted to opt a post out, unless you only wanted it to go to your followers on unlisted (but not private, that doesn't go cross instance)
