Progress has been stalled for awhile because older Macs didn't have easy access to newer tools Tigerbrew/Homebrew needs for some really basic stuff - a modern Ruby, a recent OpenSSL, a copy of Curl that can download software from sites with recent HTTPS certs. But now I've got a PowerMac G5 to build binary packages quickly, and a branch going in soon that'll automatically download prebuilt copies of those packages for people as needed.
