Even though I know pretty well how all the physics works, I'm continually astonished that heavier-than-air flight is A Thing.

PS, for folks who have had only highschool misinformation: the bernoulli effect has very little to do with what keeps planes up. It's almost entirely newton's 3rd law. Wings push air downwards.

(I honestly have no idea how common knowledge this is among my social pool. Maybe all y'all are already aware, maybe not very many, I don't know!)

@starkatt I read this almost immediately after looking up in the sky and marveling at a jet plane flying overhead. More for "wow this is a big thing higher up than it looks, and it's flying so fast it even slides across the sky quickly compared to my viewpoint". :-)
