....yes and no?
There's a range of opinions on the person and the things that he does, but it's not especially nice to drag /any/ discussion of anything related over into your specific opinion of one part of the issue.
Some can, in fact, respect the accomplishments of a person without actually liking said person overall. It's not a contradiction.
This is not an endorsement or condemnation of Musk by any means. Just a distaste for that conversation tactic.

@IrisKalmia
*nodnods* I can't really help you there. You could draw the line anywhere and still lead back to Musk and being angry at Musk. Mentions of Tesla cars? Mentions of Falcon Heavy, or SpaceX in general? I don't know.
I don't think he should be idolized either--even if I do appreciate what he's doing for space travel that NASA hasn't had the budget for in decades. That's a sad state of affairs, all 'round.

@emanate I'm trying to aim the line at "Does this source material mention the man by name at all" because that's... At least a line most would be able to understand.
At it's a bit over towards "Just let it rest" from where I am now D:

That's fair. Not sure what else to say on that regard.

@emanate Yeah that argument was more or less where my "is this bad?" was resting on for even being a question.
I'm just realllly sick of seeing him idolized and I jump on anything mentioning him because fuck.
If the item that sparked the discussion *never* mentions musk I don't really have the room to engage in that way but if it does... It's all but impossible to resist.
