National politics, and new people... hard to say. National attention has a way of massively distorting the truth, so there's really no telling what people will believe about you if their first impression of you is a news article by someone who read about you but has never actually talked to you. And of course, people who have never known you before will have their first impression be "politician, of [your party]" with all the baggage that comes with that.
