Phew, clocked in 7.5 hours of transcription work (including a revision pass) over the past, like, 48 hours.
Which I realize is not a lot for some people! But for me it was pretty intense.
@hummingrain Hey, wait, you do transcription too? I did audio transcription for 10 years in Boston! ^__^ Where do you work and what sort do you do?
@zebratron2084 I freelance! I occasionally get thrown jobs by a friend of mine who works with people to put their nonfiction books together. Usually I'm transcribing interviews, though it'd be super cool to get into other stuff.
@hummingrain That's cool! If I run into any local transcription houses on my own hunt for a 2nd part-time job, should I pass them along? I always kind of enjoyed doing transcription professionally -- it had its rough spots, but it was like getting paid to eavesdrop. XD
@zebratron2084 @hummingrain I'd be interested as well--though I'd have to get a pair of decent headphones and one of those foot pedal thingies, I have no idea where my old one is, probably long gone. it'd be nice to make a little bit of money in my spare time, since I'M NOT WRITING EVIDENTLY. :|
