@anthracite fwiw, it's just as big a deal as y'all decide to make it, yanno? after Spouse and I got hitched people kept asking "so does it feel different??" and I'd look at them blankly and say "noooo..." and for me (and Spouse, by his report) it really didn't. on the other hand we were "engaged" for like a year and a half before we finally stopped procrastinating and actually did the thing, so we had a lot of time to get used to the idea. XD
@green @anthracite Yeah, I mean, I was really just thinking of practical matters. I'd already taken it for granted that we were at least at that level where the pararazzi would refer to us as "longtime companions." :) I'd put it to Peg as something like "I figured we were at least as married as Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson were..."
@anthracite so I hope it's everything that y'all want and need it to be, and not anything more stressful or annoying than that! (Spouse and I have seriously discussed getting divorced and possibly re-married for various legal/financial reasons, but right now it looks like it's in our best-term plans to just stay hitched indefinitely)
