Does anyone have lit recommendations around the theme of found family but specifically with and emphasis on commitment and struggle to stay together in the face of difficult circumstances?

I want to keep poking at the limits of the concept.

@starkatt Honestly, I'd recommend the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. A group of winged human hybrids escape from the NGO lab they were created in and try to survive and avoid re-capture. I don't remember it being very queer, but it certainly focused on the struggle of sticking together.
