@LexYeen See, I think of shitposting as being more related to the surrealists than the Dadaists. Dadaism is, at I understand it, about holding up a mirror to the world to reveal the lack of interior meaning; while surrealism is about exposing unstated assumptions and juxtaposing unrelated ideas in hopes of generating new meanings.
@LexYeen Either way, though, shitposting is -- or at least can be considered -- an artform.
Crowley once quipped that "every intentional act is a Magickal act," and while I think that sentiment requires a caveat -- it only holds true if and when we assert that it does, as a metatextual statement about our own creations -- I think there's a core idea here that anything _can_ be art if we choose to define it as such.
Or, you know, it could just be noise for the sake of the void being less empty.
