"When looking at anarchist history its easy to focus on exciting stuff like strikes, riots and armed insurrection. In reality militants spent more time organising newspapers, talks, study circles, picnics, dances, plays. Without this slow work the big events wouldn't have happened."

"One of the main ways the historic anarchist movement funded their newspapers and raised money for strikes, prisoner support etc was through dances and balls. They were incredibly important for the movement even if you ignore their social role in creating bonds between people."

@syndikalista So... I should invest in a ballroom to hold anarchist parties and raves in for fundraising?

@kelseyhusky no need for investments, make it outdoor in public space for a start. Test it until you know what you are doing.

@kelseyhusky running your own platform/newspaper/website while organising the public events helps too. Does not need to be fancy. But it should be sharable
