I'm keeping an eye on the politics liveblogs and I'm getting annoyed at the repeated use of phrases like "it's what everyone voted for" regarding Brexit.
No. It's what a little more than half of the people who voted, voted for. Half of those who voted; not half of the electorate, not half of the population (many of whom were denied the right to vote).
Younger people couldn't vote, EU nationals who have lived here for decades couldn't vote (but Brits who had migrated elsewhere with no intention of returning could!), people were told it was an advisory referendum and the result was non-binding.
