@Azure Altemeyer tries repeatedly, and I think ultimately fails, to classify "right-wing" as "in favor of status quo" instead of "politically conservative." I also think there's a reasonable case to be made that left-wing authoritarianism (perpetual revolution) burns itself out a lot faster because it takes too much energy to maintain so it's less of a threat simply from a realpolitik perspective.
