@IrisKalmia To quote from Stonewall Jackson in "Pass the Ammo": doesn't matter where you're at outside; it matters where you're at inside. I care about my skills and my abilities. Not performing them well would be anathema to me. I have pride in my craft, and my reputation matters to me. Whether or not I'm working for money. the same basic values apply.

@literorrery there are a few things about this response that stand out to me, but I'll ask the most glaring... Why quote a confederate general on anything?

@IrisKalmia Having hopefully addressed the confusion, were there other questions I could answer regarding my response? I'm happy to talk about my thoughts in more detail, but only if it's wanted.
Capitalism
@IrisKalmia That's wholly legit. I'm not happy about _having_ to work, to be sure, but I draw an internal categorical distinction between the necessary evil of getting paid for my skills and the unnecessary evil of working for companies whose mission statements are opposed to mine. To the extent that _all_ corporate work is immoral by my standards, some forms are less immoral than others. I understand your struggle, and I wish you well in your processing.
