My office is already trying to evolve past it into Go, which... I'm sure it's a perfectly /nice/ language, but... enh. I wish retirement were closer.

The things we learned to be meticulous about in software 10-20 years ago (efficiency, responsible memory management, footprint) are largely considered a waste of time today.
It really feels like software development is straying farther and farther from the path of true engineering. ;~;
