they're pretty accurate because they take sync from the composite RCA jack, which means they have to include an adapter since only the earliest PlayStations had RCA jacks, later ones only had the multi-out
@noiob it's funny how everything old becomes new again; the tracking and timing of beam sweeps to establish spatiality is used in some modern VR stuff too
@bonzoesc if you're able to minimize other light sources it's fast and reliable
@noiob yeah; the htc vive tracking uses that, and the few times i've used it i haven't gotten sick from the visuals disagreeing with priopriception
for context, in case you didn't know: these only work on a CRT, because they actually use the timing of the electron beam going across the screen to measure where it's pointing
