Which laptop would you rather use?

(Dirty laptop notes: you're allowed to clean it, performance is generally less than a Raspberry Pi 4)

@onfy usually the lighter one

@onfy also the Win7 one is probably 64 bit and like, using 32 bit Linux these days is a pain

@onfy plus, if I get an old laptop I'm gonna take it apart and clean it anyways, a good dusting and new thermal paste works wonders

@noiob Yeah, maybe I should see how much it can be disassembled. The dirty one's keyboard is....... CLOGGED with nicotine.

@onfy ew no if the dirt is cigarette dirt just throw it out

you'll never get it clean

@onfy idk I never tried but smoke residue is nasty

@noiob It really is, need to hide my fucking stuff away.

@noiob It has a 64-bit CPU but like... barely. However, my goal here isn't to use it as a desktop replacement, but for specific old Windows stuff. A Raspberry Pi is the better choice if you just want a Linux desktop.

@noiob I think the newer one is a little lighter but not much.

@onfy well, I usually want the most portable option for a laptop

@noiob That's another interesting aspect... it's the OLDER laptop that still has a working battery, though it only holds a charge for about an hour. The older one is a Thinkpad, newer one is eMachines.
