is it still impossible to get hdmi out of a nintendo switch without an official power adapter or are there third party adapters that spoof the official adapter yet

@codl I use the skullnco Jumpgate dock (second one, actually, because they had to update it for OLED compatibility) and it works with any power source that gives enough current (not sure what the limit is but it runs off of a USB-C port)

re: network adapters any old one will probably work, but be aware that a USB-2 one will be limited below gigabit speeds which can be annoying for downloads

@noiob hmm thanks for the tip, i wonder if the dock itself is spoofing the official power adapter then

i remember before there were custom docks you could get hdmi out of a random usb-c hub but only if it was powered with the official nintendo power adapter

@codl yeah it definitely has to do some funny stuff, but the dock still works with my iPad so it's also a generic USB-C dock which is really funny

only issue is some early/cheap docks can overload the switch's internal power regulator and fry it, but I think the more well-known sellers have all adjusted their designs by now
