@mcc while I do get some of the complaints, and am not a fan of some of the changes while liking others (i actually think the hashtag and news tabs are neat and they might make me actually look at the fedi TL for something other than moderation), „surprise“ seems like a stretch when pretty much every major version has had substantial UI overhauls, and there’s been servers running RCs for a while

personally, I usually wait a bit to upgrade, like with Every Software, and change some things locally, like the landing page. though I get not everyone can do the latter. Maybe more impetus for people to look at forks like hometown or glitchsoc and such. That would be neat, I think - more differentiation between interoperable instances.
