hearing about the new social media app (emphasis on app, no website), and thinking "wow, that has to be an absolute pain to get your data out of"
because i'm incorporating more of what i post into my notes, i'm increasingly valuing trivially being able to programmatically capture it
both birdsite and here make that easy with a mixture of RSS, full archive backups, or API queries (at least until elon decides to pull another plug)

perhaps hive has some robust export implementation, i don't know, i'm not using it
cohost feels like it has basically no method other than screen scraping or i guess emailing their compliance team; there are fantastic things there that i hope can be archived properly
it feels so bad copying and pasting out of discord that i'm tending to resort to screenshots if i want something for long term knowledge, even with wanting searchability
