I've been meaning to do a Christmas avatar all month and just have not gotten around to coming up with anything.

And now there's like a week left until celebrating Christmas becomes illegal again, so

@onfy christians are supposed to celebrate christmas on the day and in the days after, before is advent, a fasting period

@noiob Advent is fasting? Our advent calendars, which are full of chocolate for every day of December, make so much sense then.

It really is a fucking theme park version of Christianity here huh.

@onfy yeah, a time of preparation is usually a time of fasting, like the time before easter

@noiob I think some here people do fasting for certain religious observances... some might even be doing that only fish thing.

Not us though, lol. I don't think we're cut out for that.

@onfy fasting in christianity can just be cutting out sweets or sth like that

@noiob I always thought it was not eating period, or at least under certain conditions. (You can't eat until sunset?)

But for a lot of people here there are times where there's no eating meat, except fish aren't meat for uh, reasons. And so the filet-o-fish was born.

@noiob yeah en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_f

Most people here (among Christians anyway) are Anglican or Catholic... or sometimes both, so this checks out.
