saw another article on this and do you know how I know that google do not in fact listen to your cellphone mic to give you better ads (it‘s because that would murder your battery and/or data plan real quick)

@halcy google actually has my cell phone mic on all the time, my phone recognizes songs that are playing around me (entirely on-device, it's a pixel feature)

@noiob yeah, that‘s KWS and there are hilarious amounts of effort that go into making it not take inordinate amounts of compute and, consequently, battery scholar.google.de/scholar?hl=e
