Incidentally, I want to get an RSS reader working for me again, and I don't want to go back to Feedly for a variety of reasons. But most of the recs I've seen going by just point at Github or some such. Can anyone recommend a good very basic RSS reader that I can just leave open in a browser tab, the way I do my email inbox, my Mastodon instance, and other 'check on this periodically during the day' locations?

@fade would theoldreader.com work for you? or do you not need a web sync component at all?

@fade I recently switched from Feedly to FreshRSS but that's something you have to set up for yourself

@noiob Oh, yeah, if I had my own server going already, that'd probably be right up my alley. But at the moment, more work than I'm looking to do. Thanks for the rec, though!
