@socks ideally the incentive should be to work together because that's how you have fun. I don't know if that's fixable in Overwatch though, it works in say, Splatoon (plus matches there are so short that if you get steamrolled it doesn't matter that much, you just queue again)
@socks I mean, a competitive game can't fix that sometimes the other team is better, on the contrary, they're trying to get you to a point where you win about half your games. They can make it suck less, which Sploon 3 is trying to do, for example you don't have to look at your team being sad on the results screen anymore
@socks you can skip the news now! but yeah, it has a lot of downtime. I basically only played Sploon 2 with friends during Splatfests, downtime doesn't matter when you're in voice, I've kinda fallen off Sploon 3 because I can't find the time to organize a Squid Squad rn
@socks I can offer you an invite to a small quiet Mastodon-related Splatoon server I made at some point
@noiob That sounds fun! But I don't think I have the time for it currently, so maybe at some point
@noiob Also what the heck how do you skip the news please tell
@socks just click the L stick, it'll keep playing in the corner but you can walk around freely after
@noiob I owe you my life
@socks :D
@socks restart the game and try again, it doesn't work when there's news other than the map rotation
@noiob Oh yeah, that's very much appreciated
Still, Sploon has a lot of little annoyances. Having to sit through the news every time makes just turning on the game feel like a drag, so I end up just not bothering. Also the time between matches feels really long for some reason
