Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart has much better low 1% and 0.1% FPS if you delete or rename the DirectStorage DLLs in the game’s folder to force the game not to use DirectStorage. It’s really noticeable too, the game was stuttering a bit and now it’s completely gone. It’s even more visible on less powerful computers.
Now I wonder if this is because the DirectStorage implementation in this game is broken, if it’s just not suited for such a GPU-heavy game, or if the technology itself is just trash for now
@Siph I'm assuming that most people don't have SSDs that would be worth using DirectStorage on, and thats the issue. Basically everything that isn't high end top of the line PCIE4/5
