uh ok so i accidentally removed a thumb drive while it was formatting, and now it doesn't show up, anywhere
can i recover this somehow?

I'm gonna say again, it does not show up anywhere
anywhere includes gparted, windows, linux, everywhere

@agatha does it show up in lsusb? or windows' formatting tool but without a drive letter?

@noiob @agatha yes, check with lsusb 'cause if it's not even there it means it's physically damaged (bad contacts, fried, who knows)

@efi @noiob shows up there, but it's failing on loading it somewhere, on the replies to the post there is the kernel message

@agatha @efi this is a regular flash drive? I'm a bit confused by Linux trying to access it as an MTP device

sounds like it's dead tbh
