real eclipse glasses are probably cheap, and if you have binoculars they make a great projector onto a sheet of paper or sth which allows you to view the sun without any eye protection, (you'd be standing with your back to it, watching your projection screen). I've seen Venus pass the sun that way, you can get it pretty sharp

@NoraReed I don't think I need to tell you but for safety's sake I'd like to add obviously don't look at the sun through binoculars if you like having working eyes
