@noiob Transferring is nearly twice as fast for me when I access my (Linux) SMB share from Windows compared to when I access it from Linux though

@elomatreb what client are you using? I haven't moved a lot of data from/to a Linux client but Thunar has worked well for me

this discussion prompted me to check out Apple's position on this since Samba moved to the Apple-shunned GPLv3 a while back (cf recent discussions of rsync too)
