I was looking at not-that-expensive fancy mechanical keyboards yesterday and I found a low-profile one I really liked, especially because it has switchable Mac/Windows layouts (gonna use a Mac at new job) until I realized that the Mac layout had no option for a right Alt/AltGr because it somehow needs two fn keys, wtf

@Rhew specifically talking about the Keychron K7, it looks great except for that

@noiob
Hey I was right!
It hasn't posed an issue for me yet. Love the keyboard so far.

Then again I mainly use it for writing right now. If I get a more technical job I'll check back in on that opinion.

@Rhew I mean that's what I use AltGr for, to type umlauts and accents and ß

@noiob
Huh. Well now I'm curious if there's a way to do that on that keyboard. When I get back to it tonight I'll take a look

@Rhew according to the manual, you can swap windows and right alt with a key combo, but that's only on the Windows configuration. You can swap alt and command in macOS settings but that affects both sides

@noiob
Gotcha! So yeah too finicky to use easily

@Rhew shame, it looks pretty awesome, especially for the price

@noiob
Yeah, that's one I'd recommend too.
I hope ya find one that has the functionality ya need!
