@odoben I tried setting my phone to English for a while but it led to navigation apps reading street names with an English pronounciation and that made it unusable… also it really doesn't matter to me
@noiob@awoo.space @odoben A while back a nav app got really riled up by one street for us :D Bártfai utca was Bart-faye U T C A ("you-tee-see-ay"), but other utcas were more properly mangled anglicised as a word.
@ralesk@noiob One would think that this is something that was solved a while ago; all they'd have to do is use the corresponding language for each place name.
@odoben@ralesk not all places have the same name in different languages, in some languages foreign words don't get pronounced natively, it's way trickier than it seems
