something funny I learned about wifi on the wii that I forget if I posted. the wii has notable issues connecting to modern routers that the wii u, even in wii mode, doesn't

I assumed this was because the wii u supports 802.11n, while the wii only supports 802.11g. the wii u can connect to a 802.11n-only network, including in wii mode, while the wii decidedly can't

but it's frequent that when the wii can't connect to wifi, the 3ds can. I assumed the 3ds supports n but it turns out even the new 3ds, from 2014, doesn't. it only has 802.11g wifi

it also turns out that the ps3, which predates 802.11n, usually connects to new routers. so, what the fuck?
