I wonder if there’s any chance you could get people to work on, say, plumbing, sewage, cleaning… without being told to for profit
in part it seems like the problem is centralizing everything and operating at large scales while specializing
in part it seems we want that centralization
@xerz I would be down to do a lot of jobs for the benefit of the community if they didn't have to be my only job. I think a lot of people would be. I feel like there's also people who find joy in getting really good at one thing, but they could still use help of people like me who can follow instructions but need an expert
@noiob you’re still gonna have to deal with tradeoffs toward reaching some sort of fulfillment threshold, things which are usually easier to measure by just… letting people do whatever they want and get rewarded for it proportionally to job demand and supply
that said, could be perfectly feasible, I just wonder at which scales would it start breaking apart
