why do games still pop up an unskippable "this is what autosave looklike. dont turn off!" screen when like every game has had some kind of hardening against save corruption since the 2000s meaning if you do turn off the console while the spinner is spinning you just transparently end up on the previous autosave as if you had turned off three seconds earlier

and don’t give me the "well console manufacturers mandate that-" why dont they mandate an autosave system that survives a shutdown mid-save instead. and a manual save button for those times when you really gotta be sure
