does anyone have advice on what to do about a vintage solid steel table (i.e. very heavy, very large, very not-take-apart-able) that is covered in lead paint
how do you... deal, with that.
(i want to keep the table)
@unascribed isn't the lead like, bound in the paint? my understanding is you'd need to seriously disturb it for it to come out in a dangerous form
@unascribed huh
my parents have lead-glazed plates (not a lot of them) and we were just disallowed from putting acidic foods on them lmao
@noiob it is well known that metal flatware does not scratch surfaces at all. steel is as soft as wool
@unascribed absolutely yeah
@unascribed honestly a little lead builds character
@noiob my understanding is that normal contraction/expansion of metal due to heat and abrasion from using the table can liberate lead dust
