French version of the old Learning Company learning system from TLC Edusoft, 1996. I have a few questions.

Let's start off with Reader Rabbit.
Lapin Malin: Lettres, chiffres, & formes

There's several games in there I don't recognize. And Jeannot Lapin??? What???

One of those games might be a localization of Math Rabbit. Probably either Premiers pas en calcul or Voyage au pays des maths. But I'm especially intrigued by what "Je lis avec...." could be. French localizations of RR2/3?

But I've never seen a Jeannot Lapin from TLC...! What kinda localization weirdness is this.

Hmm... several of these are marked "à paraître" (coming soon), which could well mean they ended up becoming vapourware. Sad if true.

I know Lapin Malin: Voyage au pays de la lecture came out since I have a copy, though it's a reprint from the 2000s.

But I'm guessing most of these other localizations never saw the light of day, which is sad. I've never seen localizations of most of the older Reader Rabbit games in other languages either.

Anyway, Super Solvers. They apparently just called em Super Solver in French.
Le trésor de la montagne
Le trésor de la galaxie
Opération lecture
Opération orthographe
Opération math
Opération sciences

Looks like they at least planned to localize a good chunk of them.

I'm guessing Le trésor de la montagne would be Treasure Mountain, Le trésor de la galaxie would be Treasure Galaxy, Opération lecture might be Midnight Rescue? Opération math is OutNumbered (this image actually came from a scan of its cover). Could Opération orthographe have been intended as a localization of Spellbound? (How the fuck would you localize that.) Opération sciences could be Gizmos & Gadgets. (That game has a German localization.)

I've seen Dutch and Finnish localizations of Treasure Mathstorm, but that's mysteriously missing from here. I don't think I've ever seen localizations of Mountain or Galaxy! I imagine those would be tough to do.

Out of these OutNumbered (obviously) and Treasure Mountain are the only ones listed as released, so I guess French TMT is out there. I'll be quite surprised if the other games came out.

Sadly though even if it did come out it surely must not be common. I can't find any note of its existence outside this old scan.

Ah someone actually posted a Finnish copy of Treasure Mountain, they called it Aarrejahti!

Great, I can't wait to solve riddles in Finnish!

In retrospect, Le trésor de la montagne could be Treasure Mathstorm, and is often believed to be it. I can't confirm this as I haven't found any picture of it. But the title literally means The treasure of the mountain...

Je lis avec avec Lapin Malin 2 could be Reader Rabbit's Reading Development Library 2? I think 1 was Premiers pas en lecture, wasn't it?

I'm looking for the German version of the Learning System.

Of course, I still know nothing about Reader's lost relative Jeannot Lapin. I might never know who that is.

Wait, does this line up near perfectly with the English version? No way...

I checked my copy of Billi Banni Kindergarten, no Learning System. I should've known since it's one of those crappy Kevin O'Leary jewel cases.

Based on the table on my copy of Reader Rabbit 1, the mappings are:
Lapin Malin: Lettres, chiffres, & formes - Ready for Letters
Lapin Malin: Premiers pas en lecture - Reader Rabbit 1
Lapin Malin: Premiers pas en calcul - Math Rabbit
Je lis avec Lapin Malin 2 - Reader Rabbit 2
Je lis avec Jeannot Lapin 3 - Reader Rabbit 3

I really want to believe these exist. I know they don't.

But were they really gonna call journalist Reader Rabbit Jeannot? Why the fuck.

I have found a photo of, and thus confirmed the existence of Voyage au pays des maths. It's a localization of Interactive Math Journey. What, you've never heard of it??

@onfy are these all book title puns

@onfy actually just the treasure Island one is, innit

@onfy le voyage etc sounded like Jules Verne but he just had very generic titles I suppose
