So my experience with #linuxmint on the 2013 #imac is very positive. Some quality of life features from macOS are missing, but all in all it's great. The reason I switched was that the external Thunderbolt SSD seemed to have died. However, I am now retesting the drive and SMART says it is totally fine. I will put some data on it, and run it for a while to see if it makes any problems. IF it still works my plan might be to move the Mint install over to the drive. Question: how?
#linux

Back in the day I would simply format the drive, boot from some Linux stick and dump all the data from the internal drive to the external one. But will that work? And I probably need to tell the bootloader do boot from a different drive? I COULD just throw all away and start from scratch, But I'd rather not.
